Question Why must an unstable ion decay when at rest ?

Forum: Hadronic Processes
Date: 02 Feb, 2015
From: Andrea Conti <Andrea Conti>

G4RadioactiveDecay has the method AtRestDoIt. Why must an unstable ion decay at rest ? What is the relevance of being at rest for the radioactive decay to take place ?

Thank you in advance. Andrea Conti
