Question Modifying alpha-energy in radioactive decay

Forum: Hadronic Processes
Date: 26 Jun, 2014
From: Kseniia Rezynkina <Kseniia Rezynkina>

Hello,

I'm trying to modify the alpha energy in my simulations with radioactive decay. I assumed that it should be enough to change the Q-value in radiation decay file, here (last column):

# 210RA ( 3.7 S )
# modified by Kseniia Rezynkina, 24/06/2014
#
# Excitation Halflife Mode Daughter Ex Intensity Q
P 0.0000 3.7000e+00
                             Alpha 0.0000 1.0000e+00
                             Alpha 0.0000 9.9970e+01 7160.3833
                             Alpha 575.3000 3.0000e-02 6577.2816
P 2053.5000 2.2400e-06
                                IT 0.0000 1.0000e+00

But playing with this number has absolutely no effect on the energy of alpha particle.

Same problem with Cf238 in example rdecay01.

So, I guess it's not the Q-value that defines the alpha energy in Geant4. Could you tell me how do I modify it then?

Kseniia
