When there is no data for a given isotope, Geant4 selects from the database the one which is nearest to the missing isotope. This feature can be turned off by setting the environment variable G4NEUTRONHP_SKIP_MISSING_ISOTOPES. In that case the cross section is set to zero and a null reaction occurs. This flag is ignored if natural abundance data is available.
