None depth dose distribution of alpha particles using Geant4.9.5p02 and 6p02

Hello!

I calculated 206 MeV/u alpha depth dose distributions in water. Physics list is FTFP_BERT. Its version is 1.3 in 4.9.5p02, and 2.0 in 6p02.

I found there is a large difference of the depth dose curves between these two versions of geant4.

Please see attached picture.

However, for other particles like proton, C-12, the difference is very small.

Who can explain the change of physics for alpha in these two different versions of FTFP_BERT?

It appears that the result from FTFP_BERT version 2.0 is more reasonable because the curve is similar to He3 particle result.
