Thank you for your help, Michel. I tried to duplicate what you sent to me by running Hadr03 with the .mac file you gave me. I got the following error:

/testhadr/det/setIsotopeMat C12 6 12 2.27 g/cm3

***** COMMAND NOT FOUND </testhadr/det/setIsotopeMat C12 6 12 2.27 g/cm3> *****

I then added Carbon12 to the DetectorConstruction.cc and re-ran it with this line in the .mac file: /testhadr/det/setMat Carbon12

The resultant histogram is virtually identical to yours. It has a broad dominant peak at 4.45MeV as it should, but the thermal captures are absent or, at least not in the right places. (That's at a quick glance. I'll have to examine it more closely.) That was using the QGSP_BERT_HP hadron physics list from the Hadr03 example.

(I'm not sure why the testhadr/det/setIsotopeMat didn't work. I am running geant4 9.6.2 patch 2 and from the log file you are running 10.-00-ref-00. Does that matter?)

Now I just have to figure out why my code is not producing the same shape of spectrum.
