I want to simulate a Scintillator made of ZnS(Ag) mixed with clear Epoxy in order to detect Alpha particles. Assuming my new scintillator is homogeneously mixed, My questions are:
1. How do i calculate the light Yield of the new Scintillator ? (Do I have to take into account the particle size of each of the combining materials ? and travel length of alpha in both materials ? is there a simple way to calculate the new light yield or do I need to implement new code in Geant4 ? I know Geant4 cant tell which material did the Alpha particle hit inside the scintillator...)
2. Maybe the wrong forum to ask in but, Anyone know how to calculate the refraction index and absorption length arrays of the new scintillator (I have them for each of the materials)?
