Dear Geant4 Users and experts

I am trying to simulate the neutron detector array (BC501) which are placed in a

ring having 2*m radius. First I am trying to see the response with the neutron source places at the center of ring using NeutronHP model. The experimental hall in which the detectors are placed is filled with air. When I am trying to shoot the neutron form the center of ring isotropically i am finding that none of the neutrons reaching to the detector, in fact they interacted with the air particles and get scattered. So the simulation is generating very large number of tracks of secondaries which slows downs the simulation without having neutron interaction to the detector.

Can anybody please tell me that how do I have a control over the number of secondaries which are produced in air ???

I just came to know that this can be done by using region dependent production threshold, but when I am trying to do this it is not going to work.
