I'm trying to simulate spontaneous fission from Cf-252 and am not able to get fissions to occur.
According to the version 9.0 release notes, the LLNL fission module was added to that version with this guidance:
"New module for Livermore LLNL neutron-induced and spontaneous fission model is now available. Model class G4FissLib must be instantiated and assigned to G4HadronFissionProcess. Pointer to G4NDL is required as in high precision neutron models."
I have attempted this approach but to no avail. It's possible I am not handling the PrimaryGeneratorAction as I should. I've tried implementing the Cf as a G4ParticleGun and as a G4GeneralParticleSource -- should it matter which I use?
In addition, it seems that the Radioactive Decay Module has now been expanded to handle spontaneous fission as of version 9.5. From the release notes:
Radioactive decay has been extended to handle forbidden beta decays and spontaneous fission. New radioactive decay data set, G4RadioactiveDecay.3.4: New spontaneous fission capability and upgrade to forbidden beta decays.
G4RadioactiveDecay.3.4 does indeed have spontaneous fission as a decay mode, but it appears that the source code for version 9.6 still doesn't have it implemented. From G4RadioactiveDecay.cc we have:

Does anyone know when this might be up and working?
In the past, I have used the stand-alone LLNL module before it was incorporated into Geant4 (http://nuclear.llnl.gov/simulation/fission.pdf). I was able to use this again to get Cf fissions, but it has a severe memory leak that I'm trying to avoid tracking down by moving to the Geant4 implementation of this module.
Does anyone have an example of how to implement spontaneous fission? Any assistance would be appreciated.
