As Vladimir suggests, please try the lower energy and see what happens. However, neutron_hp does not often set the excitation energy in a recoil nucleus. The reason is that the Geant4 particle classes do not handle isomers due to the lack of a standard treatment. Radioactive decay does have the states in 26Al that you're interested in, but with no excitation energy it never sees the isomer.
