I am shooting a 2 GeV primary C12 ion on a BGO calorimeter crystal in order to stop it and deposit total energy of my ion. When entering the calorimeter volume the kinetic energy is about 150 MeV higher than the energy which is then deposited by the ion. Is this amount of energy compatible to the lost energy due to invisible energy?
I use the binary light ion cascade for inelastic interacions of generic ions.
Thanks in advance. Jan
