Question Missing Decay Table?

Forum: Hadronic Processes
Date: 05 Dec, 2011
From: Oscar Larsson <Oscar Larsson>

I'm running the beta release of geant4 (geant4.9.5.b01) and I'm using the physics list set up from example Hadr02 in my application, including DPMJET.

When simulating ions at high energies >50 GeV/n exotic hadrons are produced for which no decay table seem to exist. A copy of the print out follows:

G4Decay::DoIt : decay table not defined for lambda_c+

*** G4Exception : No Decay Table
      issued by : G4Decay::DecayIt
Decay table is not defined
*** This is just a warning message.

I get this message for the following particles: lambda_c+, anti_lambda_c+, D0, anti_D0, D-, anti_xi_c0, and Ds+.

Last run I got 12 of these warnings in a run of 100 000 events for a 100 GeV/n 12C on 10 g/cm2 Al.

My questions: 1) What does Geant4 do when a particle is supposed to decay but there is no decay table for it? 2) Why are these decay tables not included? 3) Is there a simple way to add the decay table for these particles?

Cheers! Oscar
