To check 4-momentum conservation in nuclear interaction one has to take into account masses of projectile and target and also masses of produced fragments, so to use Lorentz expressions. The accuracy of 4-momentum different Geant4 hadronic models is varying. For the Binary cascade it is nearly perfect, for the Bertini cascade well within 1 MeV for each interaction. Visible ionisation energy deposition in media is not equal to kinetic energy of projectile particle. Also produced neutrons may have long trajectory and leave the volume of interest.
In Geant4 9.4 extra data set G4NEUTRONXSDATA is needed if so called XS neutron cross section is used. The tar file with the data is available at Geant4 page with other data files.
