Question HP models for neutrons are slow compared to MICAP of GEANT3

Hello. During my investigations I found out that high precision data-driven models for neutrons are considerably slower than LE models. On the other side, the exact geometry model I used in G4 with HP model is 3-4 times faster in G3 with MICAP code. Is there any solution to speed up HP models? At first look it seems that some non-optimized algorithms could be used in it. Any feedback is highly appreciated!
