Question Neutron Capture - What has abosorbed the neutron?

Hi there,

I'm creating a basic simulation of nuclear fission using a thorium fuel cell. Currently, I have defined a material made out of two elements; Thorium-232 and Uranium-233. I am using the QGSP_BIC_HP physics list.

The overall aim is to obtain a value of the effective multiplication factor. I have put together some code which reports back to me, at the end of a run how many fission events occured, how many neutrons were produced from the fission events and how many neutrons were captured in the fuel. It's by no means perfect but, first things first...

The one key piece of information I really need in order to proceed is which of the elements captured the neutron in each capture event; the Thorium or the Uranium?

Any suggestions, advice or pointers you can provide will be greatly appreaciated!
