Question GDML missing functionality questions

There are a few things with the built-in GDML code that are preventing me from switching to its use. Are there plans to address any of the following in near-term releases:

1) support for the <assembly> tag (see post 986)

2) support for the <expression> tag (see post 970)

3) I used to be able (with the old stand-alone GDML) to define a quantity:

 <quantity name="xWorld" type="length" value="1.0" unit="m"/>

then use this quantity when defining a solid:

 <box name="sWorld" x="xWorld" y="xWorld" z="xWorld"/>

The new built-in version of GDML doesn't seem to like this, but I have many complicated geometry files that are written this way. Is this a missing functionality or am I trying to do something improperly? I know about the <variable> tag, but a <variable> doesn't have a "unit" field.
