Question Find volume by position

Forum: Geometry
Date: 13 Nov, 2008
From: Lucas Clemente <Lucas Clemente>

Hi everybody,

I'm currently using parts of Geant4 in other applications, e.g. the Geometry classes. I have built a normal geometry, but now, I do not use Geant4's stepping. Is there any possibility to find out in which volume a certain point (actually a particle) lies? So I have a point given by a G4ThreeVector and I want to know the lowest-level (physical)-volume at this point (also sufficient: is the particle in a volume different to the world volume?).

Greetings, Lucas
