Dear Jonathan,

It seems that you are creating a G4LogicalVolume without giving it a  
Solid.  Can you check your Detector Description class?

If it is not simple to find where this occurs, I suggest the usual  
debugging tool:  Add print statements at different places in that  
method until you locate the relevant line of code.
