thanks for the advice and suggestions. I believe I have managed to get the simulation to do what I want and the detectors rotate around the centre on a fixed radius.

just one small question though,

What does the line runManager->ResetNavigator();

actually do?

The line caused an error in my simulation. It is currently commented out and everything appears to be working fine. I can't see any problem with not using it

So ... what is it supposed to do ?
