Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.
|1||0||1||no text / full text of posting|
|2||1||All||text for level 1 only / text for All postings|
Outline: Choose the depth of the posting thread, successive toggle controls provide increasing detail.
|1||2||1||2 levels / 1 level (original posting)|
|2||3||2||3 levels / 2 levels|

Dear Reema, Likely since you report that the same effect occurs when you hard-code the position, it has nothing to do with this, but only with your geometry and sensitive volumes. More likely is that you do not adjust the direction of your particles, to point them at your detector. After you say /gun/position -46.5 0.0 15.0 mm Try: /gun/?direction /gun/direction 0 0 -1 In case this does not help, could you please explain a bit more about what your setup is like, and whether you based your program on an existing example. In particular: - are there many other volumes in your setup that could absorb your tracks? - the PrimaryGenerator: did you create your own or choose one from an example? Hope these suggestions help. Best regards, John Apostolakis P.S. Could you let us know the application area of your project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ John Apostolakis Email: John.Apostolakis@cern.ch > -----Original Message----- > From: email@example.com > [mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org] > Sent: Monday, October 15, 2007 5:13 PM > To: PublicHyperNews@slac.stanford.edu > Subject: /gun/position > > *** Discussion title: Geometry > Email replies to PublicHyperNews@slac.stanford.edu must include: > In-Reply-To: <"/geometry/797"@geant4-hn.slac.stanford.edu> > Subject: ...change this to be about your reply. > > Hi all, > > I am working to create an application with source position at > (-46.5,0,15) cm and the detector at (31.5,0,0).
