Question Local/Global coordinate transformation to establish primary vertex?

Keywords: local global coordinate transform geometry
Forum: Geometry
Date: 16 Oct, 2006
From: James Odegaard <jodegaa@uwo.ca>

In reading the postings, it seems that during a run, G4Navigator is most useful in translating between local and global coordinates. My problem is that I would like to choose a point in local coordinates in a movable phantom (whose mother is not the world volume) and translate this to global coordinates before passing the point to the particle gun.

Is there no way to get the geometry to calcualte the local->global transformation (or the inverse), without having access to the G4UserSteppingAction, etc.?

Thanks, James O.
