Question Replica number offset when using assembly volumes?

Forum: Geometry
Date: 19 May, 2006
From: Richard Thompson <Richard Thompson>

If I place a volume with G4VPlacement, then it's replica number (via G4VTouchable.GetReplicaNumber(depth)) is 0, as one would expect.

If, however, I make an assembly of the volumes with G4AssemblyVolume.MakeImprint(...), the ReplicaNumber ordering starts with 2. Even if I only make one imprint, the replica number is 2.

I can see that the volume name has imbedded in it the correct copy number (..._impr_1...), so I think I'm making the assembly correctly.

Same behaviour seen with G4VTouchable.GetCopyNumber(depth).

Am I missing something?

Using 4.8.0.p01.

Thanks in advance.
