Hi Everybody, I was just wondering if the copy number of the parent volume propagates to the daughter volumes? I have a detector I have constructed using multiple volumes of which I only an interested in the energy deposition in one small volume (this is a granddaughter volume of the main volume). I would like to copy these detectors whole and be able to reference the volume of interest (the granddaughter volume) by copy number. A Replication would appear suit my purposes perfectly, unfortunately once I have replicated the detector within the world volume I cannot place any other volumes within the world volume. I have overcome this by just using G4PVPlacement and incrementing the copy number when I place the main volumes, which automatically places the daughter volumes contained within this copied volume. What I would like to know is if the daughter volumes automatically placed by Geant within the copied parent volume take their copy number from tha parent volume? If this is the case it would make my simulation very simple, i have considered using a Parameterisation to create these copies but I think it may be overkill for what I am attempting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dale.
