Correction to my previous post:

My, houseLength = 9.91*cm; and innerHouseLength = 9.66*cm;

The resultant "gap" between my front box surfaces should be = 0.5*mm

The translation I use to slightly shift the subtracted inner box is = 0.75*mm

The initial gap between the two boxes is 2*mm on the sides, and , so there should be no copincident surfaces before taking the boolean subtraction of the two G4Box solids.
