Question global coordinates of physical volume

Keywords: physical volume global location
Forum: Geometry

How does one get at the global coordinates of a G4VPhysicalVolume? I've looked around in this forum and the FAQ.

It seems that I can get the coordinates of a volume relative to its _mother_ with GetObjectTranslation, but how do I transform this to the global coordinate system? G4VPhysicalVolume.GetMotherLogical() seems to be the only information I can get about the mother volume. But the logical volume is unplaced, right?
