Had the same problem trying to construct a vacuum cross from 3 tubes.
My method was:

1. Construct a solid cross from 3 perpendicular cylinders (G4UnionSolid) ... works)
2. subtract cyllinders with smaller radius. (works only for two of them.
The third one gave an boolean operation error.

Any ideas how to do that?
