Question Hexagonal Array of Cylinders

Forum: Geometry
Date: 17 Oct, 2017
From: Scott Dow <Scott Dow>

Hello,

So I'm attempting to create a hexagonal array of cylinders using the second method outlined by John Apostolakis in this thread:

http://hypernews.slac.stanford.edu/HyperNews/geant4/get/geometry/1275/2.html

However, it is not clear how to make each row a subvolume so as to achieve a hexagonal array. If each row is a parameterized volume, there is a problem since each mother volume can only have one replicated volume. If I make each row a box filled with cylinders, I need to make the rectangles overlap to make the cylinders interlock in a honeycomb pattern in general. Am I missing something?

Best, Scott
