Hi, I have a query regarding my Calorimeter which is a normal Scintillator-lead sandwiched detector. I know that to distinguish between photons and electrons the conventional way is to have two layers, an initial dE layer and a final E layer, and look at the dE vs E distributions.Could you please give me some idea/suggestion how should I implement that in my calorimeter set up? On the other hand, somewhere I read or heard that the modern way to do the same is to have lots of layers and train a neural net based on the energy deposition in each. Could you please help me in any of these issues? thanks...
