Ah, that would have been helpful...thanks!

If my construction is correct, there's still something going on. I see a sharp decline in alpha particle production and radioactive decay from a control of pure water for materials with concentration as low as 1ppm, which remains consistent until I replace it with a solid chunk of Ti50, after which both spike. I would expect to see a more gradual transition between the two extremes.

Any ideas?
