I tried renaming each instance of the solid as a new name. See the code snippet here:

It did not have an effect on the failure of the geometry engine (it still failed). BTW, when it fails it does not drop me into the interactive mode, it just hangs. I didn't know if that was clear from the start. I have to ctrl-C out of the program then.
