The cylinder is hollow with Aluminium surface. I am intending to insert the Silicon plate crossing the surface of cylinder which means I need to make slit on the surface of cylinder. Without using Boolean I don't think one can make slit on the surface on cylinder. Besides that placing just the Silicon will cause geometry overlap.
