Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. Dear Yuefeng, There is no "treatment" in the case you describe: such situation is not allowed in Geant4, and is considered as a real bug of the user geometry implementation. The behavior can not be really predicted (depends on many things about the way the track came here: the track may "think" it is outside the entire volume, given it is outside the daughter (and hence the mother) volume, but not always...). There are several ways to detect overlapping volumes (please refer to "4.1.11. Detecting Overlapping Volumes" of the user's guide for application developers). At tracking time, the problem may or may not be detected.
