Question About lost particle treatment in Geant4

Forum: Geometry
Date: 12 Nov, 2014
From: Yuefeng Qiu <Yuefeng Qiu>

Dear all,

I am not so clear about the mechanism of Geant4 in treating lost particles due to e.g. geometry overlapping. I do not have any specific problem. But I just interested in this question.

For example, if a mother volume is smaller than a children volume, the particles go out of the children volume might already outside the mother volume. Is there any way to detect this problem, or Geant4 just simply let it runs in a infinite loop?

Best regards, Yuefeng
