Question building a volume element from a data surface

Hi, I am trying to simulate surface wave pattern which is not defined by an equation. It is made of ripple structure which is modelled by a z=D(x,y) profile, where D is essentially a look-up table of z for x,y co-ordinates. This surface bounds a cube on one face only. Can some one please point out how can I build this geometry? Thank you in advance for any useful pointers. Seems BREP can only work with well defined equations i.e., z=f(x,y).
