Thanks John for your contribution to this discussion. I think that, as they are now, touchable handles are not useful for me, since I need a fast way to identify a touchable and a deep comparison does not fit this purpose. Moreover, if handles consume so much memory I think I could have memory issues if I store too many of them. Therefore it is nice to hear that "long-lived touchables" are on the way, I was in doubt whether to propose such a thing or not but fortunately someone anticipated me. How can I track the development to see when they will be available? I guess it will be mentioned in release notes...
