Question Creating a helix in Geant 4

Forum: Geometry
Date: 03 Sep, 2013
From: Lech Wiktor Piotrowski <Lech Wiktor Piotrowski>

Hello,

I need to create a fiber that surrounds a cylinder - the fiber has a helical shape. Does anyone have experience in creating such a geometry?

I found a ROOT script for creating helix from parts of torus and adapted it to Geant. However, changing of the parameters of the parts of torus causes changes of the pitch, radius and angle of the axis of the helix and I have no idea how to create a helix of specific dimensions. Therefore, I need help.
