None Absorbption Length as a Function of Position

Dear Experts,

Hopefully this is the appropriate forum for my question, apologies if not.

I would like to simulate the effects of radiation damage in a calorimeter
where the absorption length degrades with radiation dose. In this
particular case optical photons propagate along a quartz fiber. Is there
a way to define a material property which has absorption length as a
function of position along the fiber?

Thanks in advance,
Chris Cowden
