Dear Geant4 developers,
After migrating our simulation code to Geant4.9.5, we have noticed that the methods ConstructNewGasMaterial() and BuildMaterialWithNewDensity() of G4NistManager do not seem to be working.
More specifically, we are simulating the propagation of gamma particles in a pressurized xenon gas volume. However, the range of the gamma particles we register corresponds to the one gammas would have at atmospheric pressure and not to the one we expect for the pressure explicitly set through the methods mentioned above. On the other hand, when building a material from scratch with the adequate pressure and density, the results are perfectly correct and compatible with those obtained with previous version of Geant4.
Best, Justo Martin-Albo
