Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.

Dear experts, I'm trying to write a program which allows for offline navigation in Geant4 geometries. For "offline" I mean building the geometry in my program, enquire it for some parameters (eg. which physical volume contains a certain point in space) and then exit without actually simulating anything.
My main concern is just about the example above: how can I quickly retrieve the ohysical volume which contains a given point in space? Right now I navigate the geometry starting from world, checking which logical daughter contains the point, then navigate its children etc. It works but it is damn slow, so I tried something smarter like using voxels, but I've not been able to understand if it is actually feasible nor how to do it, eventually.
Can anyone give me some hints on how to solve this problem? Thanks.
