Question Implementation of a gas

Hi everyone,

I have a question concerning the way to implement a gas. I want to build a gas that is a mix of argon, nitrogen and helium.

I've first implemented each element as a gas (kStateGas) and build the mix also as a gas (kStateGas). Then I've implemented each element as a "classic" material and build the mix also as a "classic" material. I've seen no difference in my output results.

The density of the mix is 1.5mg/cm3.

Can someone explain me why there is no difference? What is the best way to implement a gas in Geant4? When one can declare a gas as a simple material, and when this gas must be declared as a gas?
