Question Using replica

Forum: Geometry
Date: 27 Aug, 2010
From: Shawn Kang <Shawn Kang>

Hello,

I am creating a large mesh (1000 x 1000) using replica. They are all identical in shape and material. I just like to create one mesh and replicate them in both direction 1000 times ( in x and y directions) so that I will end up with geometry looking like a checker board. As I understood and tested, I could use replica only in one direction (either x or y) in the same mother geometry. In the past I used for loop and array to create this kind of geometry but I would like to know if there is a better way. Also, after simulation I need to get address of each mesh like row 345 and column 234, for example.

Thanks for your help.

Shawn
