You probably want to use the Geant4 interface to the NIST materials database; see my talk (http://geant4.slac.stanford.edu/PueblaTutorial2010/Materials.pdf) at a recent GEANT4 Tutorial.

The NIST Website should have a catalogue of materials (http://physics.nist.gov/PhysRefData/Compositions/index.html), but at the moment their server is not responding.
