Question keeping volume names in conversion from STEP to GDML

Hello all,

I am trying to convert a STEP file to GDML using FASTRAD. Since the material information cannot be stored in the STEP format, I am planning to add some tags in volume names in SolidWorks 2007 so that I can easily set materials in C++ source code later. For example, a name "BGO_typeB_30mm" means that its material is BGO.

However, when I import a STEP file using FASTRAD, volume names seem to be lost completely. "BGO_typeB_30mm" is automatically converted to "Element Step 0". I attache an input STEP file (I changed the suffix from STEP to txt so that I can upload it).

My question is how I can keep the volume names when I convert a STEP file to GDML using FASTRAD? Does anyone has similar experiences?

Akira
