None Passing a string as GDML auxiliary value?

I would like to pass a string as an auxiliary tag value in a GDML file (for passing the name of a sensitive detector, for example). Looking through the code it appears it might be impossible since G4GDMLAuxPairType is defined as follows:

struct G4GDMLAuxPairType
  {
     G4String type;
     G4double value;
  };

Am I correct that it is not possible to pass a string as the auxiliary value?
