None Multi-scattering and parallel world transportation problem?

NOTE: This issue was originally posted under "Hits, Digitization and Pileup", but after personal discussion with Makoto Asai and Vladimir Ivanchenko I am reposting it here. For reference, this is the original post:

I have a very simple setup: Material world: a large cube of air containing a water cylinder. Parallel world: a box around the water cylinder, with a sensitive detector attached. I verified that there were no overlaps.

What I have observed, is that every now and then (1 in 1e6-1e7 events?) ProcessHits is triggered for the detector, but both PreStepPoint and PostStepPoint are outside of the parallel world box. This happens only for electrons, and the processes are always multi-scattering and ionization. The first of these steps is always a jump from inside the box to the outside.

Is this a bug? Maybe multi-scattering and parallel world transportation are not getting along?
