Question which nuclear reaction do my positrons come from?

Dear all,

I am wondering how to extract from geant4 which nuclear reaction has caused positrons to be created. I am firing a proton beam into soft tissue and in some instances positrons are created. But for each positron I would like to know which atom of the complex material compound was responsible for the positron being emitted i.e. was it carbon, nitrogen, oxygen (etc) .

Unfortunately I dont really know where to start with this.

Is anyone kind enough to help?

Thanks in advance,

Dave
