Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.
|1||0||1||no text / full text of posting|
|2||1||All||text for level 1 only / text for All postings|
Outline: Choose the depth of the posting thread, successive toggle controls provide increasing detail.
|1||2||1||2 levels / 1 level (original posting)|
|2||3||2||3 levels / 2 levels|
|3||3||All||3 levels / all levels (all postings)|
Hi Ioannis, thanks for the additional info. > I downloaded and compiled geant4 8.3 patch 02 and tried my program with > it. Trying again with version 9.2 patch 02 (as a sanity > check) it goes into the infinite stepping I posted earlier. One thing I > neglected to mention is that I get a few of the following with 9.2 patch > 02: > > WARNING - G4Navigator::ComputeStep() > Track stuck, not moving for 10 steps > in volume -physiSkin- at point (109.9507309,-172.3171108,29.08821494) > direction: (-0.5490483281,0.5267738563,-0.6488876927). > Potential geometry or navigation problem ! > Trying pushing it of 9e-10 mm ... > > before it gets completely stuck. I get one of these every some tens or > hundreds of events. How many of the above I get before it gets stuck > completely varies with the simulation parameters. The fact that the navigator reports about stuck tracks with zero step may well be correlated to the problem you see afterwards and indicates likely a real problem in the geometry setup. The fact you do not happen to see it in 8.3.p02 does not mean the problem isn't already there; you're migrating out of three releases, including a major one, it is not surprising if you see behavioral changes. We need to verify if there is anything wrong in your geometry setup (I see you're using a relatively complex composition of Boolean solids, which is where apparently the problem happens...). Let's discuss this offline. Cheers, Gabriele
