I see I misread that example UserTrackInformation. In PostUserTrackingAction() it puts information about this track into all of this track's secondaries. That should work, and would avoid the vector<G4Track*> I mentioned. Then in PreUserTrackingAction() you can call GetUserTrackInformation() to obtain a pointer to an object containing information about this track's parent (be sure to handle a null pointer, indicating a primary track with no parent).

I use the UserTrackInformation for something else....
