Please, see posting #829 in this forum. With other words, the IsFirstStepInVolume flag is NOT implemented, or rather NOT implemented correctly!

The way to find when a track enters a volume is by asking that the volume associated with the PreStepPoint != the name of the volume in question, and that the name associated with the PostStepPoint == the name. To identify the first step INSIDE a volume, you have to ask that the PreStepPoint's volume name is correct and that the PreStepPoint's StepStatus == fGeomBoundary
