Question cannot understand gps cylinder rotation

Hi, I am completely unable to understand the way rotations are described in the gps manual. What is X', what is Y'? What should I do if I want to rotate a source cylinder in such a way that its Z axis is aligned with the Y axis of the world volume ? Thank you very much, Alain
