Question about the GPS User defined Hist. I need to put in a spectra that is not a simple fit. I am trying to use the User defined histogram for this. When I put in the histogram the resulting particles generally match the input spectra but they move up and down, like a piecewise fit was taking place but not doing a good job. Is there a problem with my macro or is this a known effect.? I've tried /gps/hist/inter Log, Lin, Exp and they all produce the same effect. A copy of the plot can be found at: http://sd-www.jhuapl.edu/ACE/EPAM/GEANT.htm The macro in question is: /control/verbose 0 /tracking/verbose 0 /run/verbose 0 /surveys/surveyPrimaries 1 /gps/particle proton /gps/pos/type Surface /gps/pos/shape Sphere /gps/ang/type cos /gps/radius 8.0 cm /gps/pos/centre 0. 0. -1.5 cm /gps/ene/type User /gps/hist/type energy /gps/hist/inter Log /gps/hist/point 0.099 0.0 /gps/hist/point 0.1 1.5073e+07 /gps/hist/point 0.15 1.4144e+07 /gps/hist/point 0.2 1.3276e+07 /gps/hist/point 0.3 1.1915e+07 /gps/hist/point 0.4 1.0696e+07 /gps/hist/point 0.5 9.8093e+06 /gps/hist/point 0.6 9.0001e+06 /gps/hist/point 0.7 8.3556e+06 /gps/hist/point 1. 6.7666e+06 /gps/hist/point 1.5 5.0824e+06 /gps/hist/point 2. 3.8357e+06 /gps/hist/point 3. 2.4098e+06 /gps/hist/point 4. 1.5246e+06 /gps/hist/point 5. 980310 /gps/hist/point 6. 631590 /gps/hist/point 7. 427560 /gps/hist/point 10. 151070 /gps/hist/point 15. 37631 /gps/hist/point 20. 14352 /gps/hist/point 30. 4132.7 /gps/hist/point 40. 2212.2 /gps/hist/point 50. 1187.2 /gps/hist/point 60. 812.43 /gps/hist/point 70. 607.18 /gps/hist/point 100. 282.48 /gps/hist/point 150. 108.44 /gps/hist/point 200. 41.903 /gps/hist/point 300. 8.7416 /gps/hist/point 400. 1.8677 /gps/hist/point 500. 0.1 /run/beamOn 10000000 Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks Dennis
